The Central Islamic Organization of Guyana came into existence on July 1, 1979 and is Forty Two (42) years in existence. Over the years the organization has contributed positively to the socio- economic development of Guyana. Our work in the social services sector primarily has resulted in the upliftment and enhancement of the lives of the poor and less fortunate. We are committed to the development of every section of the Guyanese society with particular emphasis on the most vulnerable groups.

Our work includes reaching out to the unreached in areas of health, education, culture, sports, housing and water.

Over the years we have completed a number of signature projects that have contributed positively to the development of thousands of Guyanese and hundreds of communities throughout the length and breadth of Guyana. One such signature project completed to which this presentation would primarily focus is that of education upliftment and delivery to orphans, poor and vulnerable children of school at all the
learning stages.

Our program has been further expanded to developing skills and delivering technical vocational training to out of school youths and unemployed youths giving them a second chance at education.
